In a library world that adds a new blog every five minutes, there’s nothing special about this one. It’s not meant to be a new take on anything, but instead just a space to put some issues in the open and, far more exciting, talk about books!
I’m a library student with a long way to go before I get my full fledged librarian status. But I work in the field, and I read incessantly. Plus being a student gives me a particular perspective on where the field is going, since that seems to be all we ever talk about in class.
I love Young Adult/Teen novels, so I skew my book discussions towards those, partly because that cross-section just doesn’t get enough attention from the general public. I can’t tell you my favorite author, since there are just way too many, but right now I’m really into Libba Bray, Holly Black, and, as always, Elizabeth Scott. Outside the realm of YA literature, I also love Fitzgerald, James, Lawrence, Wharton, Joyce–name a modern novelist other than Virginia Woolf, and I’m interested! Plus I have a special place in my heart, and on my bookshelf, for Confessions of a Shopaholic and The Devil Wears Prada.
